Spindle Repair Process
A 10-step process is used for failure analysis and best solution determination. It begins with creation of a
database for your equipment. This will be used to track and document your equipment throughout the process.
Thorough bench testing of spindles and motors includes extensive vibration diagnostics and spindle
temperature analysis. Runout readings will be taken on all exterior surfaces with precision test equipment. Each
integral part of the spindle or motor will be meticulously cleaned and analyzed for any deviation from our lab
tolerances and specifications. Optimal tolerance levels for housing bores and shaft bearings will be determined.
After complete spindle analysis, you will be notified about our recommendations for spindle repair, upgrade or
spindle remanufacture, and upon your approval the process will continue. After optimal tolerances are
achieved, your equipment will be reassembled in a temperature-controlled clean room.
Final balancing, performance testing and inspection will conclude the process, and all documentation will be
included in your database files.
Step 1: -Spindle is received by OEM Solutions
-All paperwork is logged into our system
-Digital photographs are taken of the spindle before disassembly
If the until can be test run without harming the spindle any further it will go directly onto
one of our test benches for vibration readings. Should the spindle prove to be within
OEM specs the customer will be notified & no repair will be conducted.
Step 2: - Tear Down
Step 3: - Inspection of All components
Step 4: - Detailed write up & Quotation
Step 5: - AFTER approval the repair process begins
Step 6: - Requalify all components as necessary
Step 7: - Dynamic Balance
Step 8: - Assemble (New Precisoin Brgs, Seals, & Etc. as required)
Step 9: - Test Run (Run up to Max RPM, Leak Test, Drawbar Test)
Step 10: - Final Inspection
